Happy Tail Ale
![]()
The most niche market I've ever seen. Beer for dogs. " Happy Tail Ale is a nonalcoholic, noncarbonated brew made for dogs. The beef-flavored base of malted barley and filtered water is fortified with glucosamine and vitamin E. The backstory? It all started when Jamie and Kevin Miller, now the owners of Dog Star Brewing Company, were on a camping trip with their Akita, Kodi. The dog kept trying to knock over beer bottles in order to lick up the overflow on the grass." (from iconoculture)
Think it's silly? I wish I had created the concept, for the money alone. You think? Happy Tail Ale

The thought of providing more nutruients and vitamins for dogs, especially when most dog foods, either grocery store brands like Cesar and Purina, and pet store exclusives like Nutro and Eukanuba are so lacking in nutrition, makes this brew very attractive to me. I would love to try some of this canine so-called beer on my Italian Greyhound, Izzy, no matter what the cost and see if my dog will drink it. If she won't, then I wil just drink it myself and consider it the most expensive non-alcoholic six pack I ever had!

This product is probably made without hops, and therefore probably harmless to canines.
HOPS, hop extract, left over hops after fermentation, or in any form is poisonous to canines. This is virtually non-reversable...and can cause hyperthermia. See the following

or Google "hops in dogs" for additional articles.

Hope this serves to help save a few pets...

It makes total sense to me. But, then again I give my dog a swig of my own beer every now and again.
