We’re all trying to do our part to keep our planet green, and one of the easiest things we can do is bring reusable shopping bags with us to the supermarket. (It also allows us to avoid the old ‘paper or plastic?’ question from the bagger.)

There are plenty of cloth and canvas totes available these days, many with company logos and advertising printed on them that you can purchase fairly cheaply.

But if you’re looking to be a bit more stylish as you stroll the produce or cereal aisle…check out the Sac à Baguette. Designed by Marybeth Shaw, it’s quite chic but totally practical. It has a detachable quiver that comes in handy for toting cylindrical item such as a French baguette, fresh celery, or rolled up newspaper. We found it at CoolHunting.com.

Shaw created the Sac à Baguette after watching Parisians break their baguettes in half in order to fit them down inside their reusable shopping bags. She brought the idea back with her to the U.S. (where her bags are made), and added touches like a removable liner, water resistant cotton canvas exterior and zippered pockets.

It comes in three colors San Francisco (tan), New York (black) and Rotterdam (gray), and is sold online in the $300 range.

So, yes, you’ll be spending some serious green to be green…and stylish,
