Is Obesity Legislation Coming?

Hot & Cool Trends from CultureWaves™

Apparently they’re trying to get the point across about the seriousness of obesity in Mississippi. House Bill 282 would prohibit certain food establishments from serving food to any person who is obese. Of course, the criteria for that is the biggest question; it would be set by the State Department of Health. As reported by Junkfood Science, the legislation would apply to restaurants that seat five or more people, and their license to operate could be suspended if they choose to ignore the decree. This bill, which is reportedly for real, was introduced for the 2008 session and could take effect in July 2008. Ours is not to judge…ours is simply to let you know what’s happening in the world of food. You can decide who’s out to lunch on this one.
