Perhaps you’ve enjoyed boxed wine. Maybe you’ve even sucked down cold brew from a beer bong (you party animal!).
So how would you feel about guzzling beer from a square bottle—like the one pictured here that’s being considered by Heineken?
The cube-shaped bottle is about the size of a single-serve milk carton and has some stackability benefits that, frankly, may be of more interest to the beer distributors than to the beer consumer.
The design is the creation of French industrial designer Petit Romain and somewhat resembles a rectangular Heineken bottle developed by the Dutch beer brand in the early ’60s.
It’s still in the concept stage, so—who knows—it may never make it to the liquor store shelf. But, then again, maybe it will.
Would you be an early adopter? Perhaps then, finally it really would be hip to be square, as Huey Lewis once sang.
