Utz has introduced a No Salt Added Barbeque Potato Chip to its product line up. The newest addition is the company’s first line extension to their No Salt chip line.
The all natural chips have no sodium added, and zero trans-fats. They are made using Utz’s traditional potato chip recipe, with seasonings added to produce what they call a “barbeque spicy sweet flavor, without the added salt.”
The only sodium content in these chips is that which is naturally found in potatoes.
The company has been producing a No Salt Added chip since 1993. As the number of people adhering to a low-sodium diet continues to increase, consumers have been requesting more No Salt Added snack options from Utz. According to Dylan Lissette, Utz executive vice president of sales and marketing, the company is focused on meeting the snacking needs of today’s more health conscious consumers.
‘More and more Americans are making food choices based on their health needs and goals,’ said Lissette. ‘But we often hear from consumers how much they miss their favorite snacks. We’re thrilled with the new No Salt Added Barbeque Potato Chips because we believe they are the first great tasting flavored potato chips that meet low-sodium dietary standards. So, we know we’ll be giving a lot of people another chance to enjoy their favorite snack.’
The No Salt Added Barbeque Potato Chips are the newest addition to Utz’s Snacking Smart line. The Utz Snacking Smart line was created in 2006 and now features over 40 products that contain healthy advantages such as reduced fat, no cholesterol and low sodium levels.
Utz also announced an expansion of its Kettle Classics Line with the additional of new Kettle Classics Krinkle Cut Potato Chips.
The Kettle Classics are handcooked in 100 percent pure peanut oil, giving the chips extra crunchiness without any preservatives or trans-fats. They feature a slightly thicker cut and the addition of ridges.
