Mini Steak Sandwiches with Horseradish and Tomato

Make your own gourmet-to-go sandwiches with tender sliced steak, juicy tomatoes, and subtly fiery horseradish cream cheese, all piled onto a soft, grilled bakery roll.

Why try? Great for a party or a day at the park, wrap up these perfectly packaged meals in parchment or waxed paper and you’ve got a meal-on-the-go.

Foodie Byte: Horseradish cream cheese is a specialty cream cheese found at most grocery stores. Its creamy kick is a great pairing with the strip steaks, but if not available, you can use horseradish mayonnaise.

 

Ingredients

  • 2 strip steaks, grilled to medium rare doneness, sliced thinly
  • 2 very ripe plum tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup mixed greens
  • 4 ounces horseradish cream cheese
  • 8 small bakery buns, halved and toasted

Preparation

    Smear horseradish cream cheese on both sides of toasted buns. Layer with greens, one or two slices of tomato, and steak slices. Replace tops and serve on a platter or wrapped in parchment or waxed paper.
