Chili Barbecued Brisket

Ingredients

  • 1 (4-pound) beef brisket, well trimmed
  • 1 can (12 ounces) beer, at room temperature
  • 1 package (1 ounce) Williams Chili Seasoning
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Hamburger or hoagie buns
  • Barbecue sauce

To make great tasting barbecued brisket, combine a can of beer, a package of Williams Chili Seasoning, a can of tomato paste and a little brown sugar; pour over a brisket and bake for 3 ½ to 4 hours. Pile the thinly sliced brisket on buns and top with barbecue sauce.

Preparation

  1. Place brisket in roasting pan.
  2. Combine beer, Williams Chili Seasoning, tomato paste, brown sugar and salt in a deep bowl; whisk to combine. Pour mixture over brisket.
  3. Cover and bake at 325° about 3 1/2 to 4 hours or until meat is tender.
  4. Remove meat from drippings and thinly slice. Serve meat on buns and top with barbecue sauce.
