Berry Trifle
Ingredients
- 4 cups strawberries, hulled and quartered
- 1 pint blueberries
- 1 prepared pound cake, cubed
- 1 recipe strawberry-orange liqueur cream
- 1/2 cup Strawberry Syrup
Bright strawberries and blueberries come together with strawberry-orange liqueur cream to layer up with pound cake, creating an easy and elegant dessert worthy of being the centerpiece at any gathering.
Why Try? By using prepared pound cake and making the strawberry syrup ahead, this trifle is very quick to pull together. If you want to make the whole thing a day early, the flavors in the trifle meld together to really taste indulgent while still looking elegant.
Foodie Byte: If you don’t have time to make this ahead, increase the strawberry syrup to 1 cup so that there’s enough berry flavor to soak into the cake cubes.
Preparation
- In a large bowl, toss the strawberries and blueberries together with the syrup.
- In a large trifle dish, arrange half of the pound cake cubes in an even layer. Spoon half of the berry mixture over the pound cake cubes. Spoon half of the strawberry-orange liqueur cream over the berry layer. Repeat layers with remaining pound cake, berries, and cream.
- Refrigerate one hour to let the cake soak in the flavors. Serve.
