Grandma Bev's Banana Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup mashed bananas, approximately 3 bananas
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • For Peanut Butter Frosting:
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Here’s a cake that Elvis would love, but it’s actually a treasured family recipe that’s been passed down for years. This is a family recipe passed down from a very special woman, Grandma Bev.

Preparation

  1. Preheat over to 350°F.
  2. Sift dry ingredients together.
  3. Cream sugar and butter, then add the eggs one at a time.
  4. Add dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Add bananas and milk; mix until blended.
  6. Bake for 35 minutes or until done.
  7. Peanut Butter Frosting: cream ingredients in mixing bowl and spread on cooled cake
