Italian Style Meatloaf
Ingredients
- Ground beef
- Italian sausage
- Bread
- Onion
- Eggs
- Parsley
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup minced sun dried tomatoes
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped, fresh basil and some dried oregano
Why not bring an Italian flair to your family’s favorite meatloaf? This recipe includes Italian sausauge, mozzarella cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes to make your tried-and-true meatloaf recipe take on a new image.

Preparation
- Replace 1/3 of the ground beef called for with sweet Italian sausage meat.
- To your standard ingredients—like bread, onion, eggs, parsley, liquids and seasonings—add in about 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup minced sun dried tomatoes, 1/2 cup tomato sauce, 1/2 cup chopped, fresh basil and some dried oregano.
- Using red wine in place of some of the liquid in your recipe would also be tasty.
- Mix well with your other ingredients and place into a loaf pan.
- Brush the top of the meatloaf with more of the tomato sauce and bake per your regular instructions (about an hour at 350F).
