Rotisserie Chicken with Wine-Braised Cabbage
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 large onion, thinly sliced
- 3 whole peeled cloves garlic, chopped
- 5 cups thinly shredded cabbage blend (coleslaw mix)
- 1 cup dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc
- Salt and pepper
- 1 SAM'S CLUB rotisserie chicken, cut into 4 pieces
Follow this simple recipe to dress up a store-bought rotisserie chicken. The wine-braised cabbage brings nice flavors to a tried and true favorite.

Preparation
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until tender and aromatic, about 5 minutes. Stir in the cabbage, pour 3/4 cup of the wine over and season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the skillet and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove the lid and lay the chicken pieces over the cabbage. Pour the remaining wine over the chicken, partly cover the skillet (to allow for evaporation) and continue cooking until the cabbage is very tender and the chicken is heated through, 12 to 15 minutes longer.
- To serve:Set the chicken pieces on individual plates. Spoon the cabbage/onion mixture alongside and drizzle cooking liquids over the chicken.
