Three varieties of flavored popcorn you can quickly make at home. Perfect for snacking on Movie Night, Game Night, or anytime day or night.

Why try? With three ingredients or less for each popcorn type, you can choose your favorite or make all three!

Foodie Byte: Depending on how spicy you like your popcorn, the amount of chili flakes can easily be changed. It’s important that you serve the popcorn as soon as you make it, because after too long, the butter will cause the popcorn to get soggy.

Ingredients

  • 3 packages microwave popcorn
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, divided
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

  • 1
Cook popcorn according to package directions.
  • 2
Meanwhile, divide butter into three different microwave-safe containers (1/2 stick in each) and melt.
  • 3
Combine one of the melted butters with the hot sauce and mix well. Pour sauce into the open end of one of the hot popcorn bags, close and shake well.
  • 4
With another melted butter, mix in the lime juice and chili flakes and pour into another bag of hot popcorn. Close and shake well.
  • 5
With the remaining butter, mix with the parmesan and black pepper, and pour over the popcorn in the last bag. Close and shake well.
  • 6
    Serve immediately.

Microwave? Why would you not make real popcorn?

Editor's response: This recipe was simply to show how quickly it could be done, and microwave popcorn tends to be something many homes have on hand. Certainly popcorn made the old-fashioned way would work great. The idea is to give you a new mix of flavors as a taste treat, however you choose to prepare it.

I heard in the news some weeks ago that microwave popcorn contain dangerous components (considered poison) specially the flavours (butter or so) but it might cause problems if you "smell" it... so I dont konw how much you know about this, but seems to be true! I'd rather do real popcorn instead the microwave version of it............... up to you guys to find out more about it... for the good of your health and your family.
