Burger King plans to open a new concept called the Whopper Bar, a small-scale version of its restaurant that serves different varieties of the chain’s signature burger, company spokesperson Keva Silversmith told Meatingplace.com.

The official menu for the Whopper Bar has not yet been determined, but it will include a variety of Whopper flavors, including some that are already on the menus in international Burger King locations, and others that have been featured on limited time only menus in the past. Guests at the Whopper Bar will be able to watch their burgers being made, as workers will add toppings to the Whoppers in front of customers.

The Whopper Bar concept is similar to rival chain McDonald’s McCafe coffee bars, except that it will serve Burger King’s burger items instead of coffee. Burger King’s Whopper Bars will be built in venues with limited amounts of space, including casinos and airports. Construction should start on the first location by the end of the year.

Steakhouse Sandwiches

In other news, the chain has announced the addition of two new steakhouse-quality sandwiches to its menu that boast ingredients such as Angus beef patties and steak sauce.

The Steakhouse Burger (pictured, right) features a flame-broiled steak burger topped with two slices of American cheese, A1 Thick & Hearty steak sauce, crispy onions, red ripe tomatoes, lettuce and mayonnaise on a bakery bun for $3.79.

The Loaded Steak house burger (pictured, below) features the same steak burger topped with bacon and a loaded baked potato in place of other vegetables. It will be available for a suggested retail price of $4.19.

“Our new Steakhouse Burgers offer the indulgence of an entire steak dinner at a fraction of the cost,” said Russ Klein, president of global marketing, strategy and innovation for Burger King Corp. “The patty is so big, it peeks out from under the bun.”

Burger King unveils a houx, the new Whopper Bar at City Walk in Orlando. This is a dressed up BK store with new signs, and nothing more. There's no bar and it looks nothing like the marketing and ad photo's. This is the worst kind of misleading advertising. The service is not as good as my local Bk. The workers spend more time talking to each other about having to wear these ichy shirts and pants!! There is a open serving platform behind the counter, where you can see workers slapping your food together, nothing more. No great attiude to go along with the new digs. Does any body ever follow up on these openings, and let the site and papers know they have been had,by this corp giant> Don't waist your time fighting traffic to get to this bar, go to your local BK, you'll get better service and save the gas money fellow Orlando travlers.

Burger king is now looking into the mix up, says they were not ready for the full Bar concept but had already paid for advertising, so dam the public. Look at the concept and slick advertising and then go to city walk and see what your missing!
