Foodies with even a bit of romance in them (and, really, are there any other kind?) have probably already seen some of the recent movies that feature, well, food. Just in case, here are our recommendations for a couple that shouldn’t be missed: Ratatouille [Blu-ray] the Disney flick, and No Reservations
the remake of the German film Mostly Martha.
The first is an animated film in true Disney style, with a hero in the form of a rat who is dissatisfied with eating garbage and sets out to find a place where he can create memorable food. In the process, he helps a young man find both his rightful identity and true love.
Now, see the video clip about Computer-Generated food. Just don’t drool on your keyboard!
The second film, just recently released on DVD, is also a true-love-prevails tale, in which a workaholic chef (Catherine Zeta-Jones) becomes the guardian for her niece (Abigail Breslin) and the love interest of her sous chef (Aaron Eckhart). Watch either of them with a plate of pasta nearby. Or, better yet, check out The Food Channel’s recipe for ratatouille.
