Before joining The Food Channel® as Chief Creative Officer, April spent 12 years as a creative director at major Chicago ad agencies including Leo Burnett USA, Foote Cone & Belding and Euro RSCG.
A number of her brands focused on food clients such as Kraft Foods (Back To Nature, Salad Dressings, Boca Foods Company, South Beach Diet) and KFC Yum! Brands, Inc. Her award-winning work, with Leo Burnett USA, included national print and television campaigns for Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Breakfast Bars, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and Keebler’s Murray Sugar Free Cookies.
She holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri and a degree in Art Direction from the Portfolio Center in Atlanta. April has been recognized by the advertising industry with numerous awards based on effectiveness and creativity, including an EFFIE Gold for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Campaign, Silver for the Nutri-Grain “Respect yourself in the morning” campaign and; an OBIE for the Outdoor Advertising Nutri-Grain Campaign; the 1995 Young Delegate Winner Cannes Lion Awards, France; and, the Crispin + Porter, Miami, 1993 Portfolio Center Ad Winner.
